A word from Diane about the pictures…
'For many years I felt uncomfortable in my own body and never seemed to like the reflection in the mirror. I had a syndrome known as ‘body dysmorphia’, a common syndrome amongst many people. As we live in a highly visual society and externalise our sense of self, by what we look like, what clothes we wear, and the company we keep, this can place pressure on the individual to be accepted in some way in society. In my case I felt different to other females due to my Mesomorphic, naturally muscular frame, when all I wanted to be was ‘thin’.
‘Standing in front of a camera in my Gladiators outfit or similar attire, was always an excruciating process for m. Over time I managed these feelings by using NLP techniques and turned this fear into a positive reframe, which has now helped me to banish my limiting belief - so much so that I now feel completely happy to share these photographs with you.
They are testament to the journey I have been on and I sincerely hope the meaning behind them inspires you to take action in any area of your life that may require attention.’
‘ Action may not always be happiness…but there is no happiness without action’.
