Val is refreshing, fun, enthusiastic and inspiring with great integrity and a hard work ethic. As a Gladiators fan in her teenage years, Val knew a little about me and recognised that we both shared a passion for helping and empowering others to lead a healthier, happier and more fulfilled life. I will let Val continue with introducing herself.Diane ---------
Hi my name is Val!
I describe myself online as a:😄 Life Enthusiast 🏋️ Health & Fitness Coach 💪 Strength & Conditioning Coach 🎓 Life Coach ❤️ Abuse & Alcohol Survivor 📚 Writer & Speaker
When I first took a look at Diane's website I was amazed & excited to see that she uses the same tagline as I do, 'Live Life, Love Life.' Although similar such mantras exist, not so many people use the words in this exact format. This was one sign that made me think we would work well together. The Live Life, Love Life mantra is one that I have held for a very long time and I work hard to live by it. Despite many ups and downs in life, I can hand on heart say that I love my life!
I wanted to work with Diane as I knew she shared a passion to work with people as holistically as possible. I believe the mind and body are inextricably linked such that you can't work with one without also needing to work the other.
I think the human body and mind are AWESOME! But also they can be a little slow on the uptake left to their own devices and hence I fully believe in coaching to help develop both body and mind. Diane is one of the coaches I work with to seek mentoring and support.
We could all use a little coaching from time to time to help us on our own journey of life.
I am big into leading a healthy lifestyle as I want to live a long and enjoyable life.
I am a believer that it is not external events that dictate our wellbeing and how we will survive them, but rather our attitude towards those things.
"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
I grew up with very low self-esteem. Paradoxically, I had great self-confidence though! I soon learnt that self-confidence and self-esteem are not one and the same.
My low self-esteem lead me to have three very unhealthy relationships as an adult. During the last one in 2015 I recognised the gap in my own life when someone said to me 'you've been building a life you love but you don't love yourself.' It was true. I didn't respect myself and hence then allowed others to treat me disrespectfully. This was the kick up the butt I needed to begin working on my self-esteem.
I cannot tell you what a game changer this is! I used to say that having a good self-esteem is like always carrying with you a suit of armour that protects you. However, as I explore the mind and body further what I have realised is that it doesn't give you a suit of armour. Rather, it strips away the armour such that you are strong enough in your own sense of self-worth not to need a suit of armour to protect you because you now know you have got your own back in whatever life brings your way. This doesn't mean we get everything right all of the time, but it means we know how to be kind to ourselves and how to better navigate the messiness of life.
I hope very much to bring you with me on a journey of self-discovery so that you too can experience the joy of life through developing a strong self-esteem and sense of self-worth.
I am looking forward to working with Diane to help as many of you to develop a Live Life Love Life approach and to ultimately help you live a happier, healthier and more fulfilled life.
